The Mobile Film School’s Summer 2007 Workshop was a big success!
From the moment we rolled into Elgin, Texas, our group of eight ambitious high school students hit the ground running. The new filmmakers had a hand in every aspect of production, from fine-tuning story ideas to perfecting camera angles, choosing music soundtracks and mastering video editing tricks. By the end of the rigorous eight-day schedule, they completed the short documentary Dr. Phil or Dr. Do-little?, which brought an audience of over 100 to a premiere screening for the entire Elgin community on July 28th. The response was so positive, Elgin High School now has plans to develop its very own digital video production class based on the MFS model.” I can’t believe we accomplished so much in so short a time,” MFS participant Devin Soto acknowledged. “There’s just no other way I could have learned so much about filmmaking.
