Crosby, Christine

Educator, Activist, and Clinical Therapist

Chris Crosby comes to MFS with 25 years of experience as an educator, therapist and activist. With a background in education and clinical psychology she has worked with schools, hospitals, community groups, and in private practice. She has extensive experience with non-profits, working on boards and as development staff for both new and established groups. She was a founding member and board president of the Austin Children's Museum and has served on the board of the Center for Battered Women and other local environmental and education-based groups. Currently she is on the boards of the Girls' School of Austin, and Shumla, a research and education institute based in west Texas. She is also a partner with Austin writer Bill Crawford in Mapache, a media production company.

Chris grew up on the Texas - Mexico border in a family of storytellers and movie fiends. Her family has been involved in the communications industries for over 100 years, beginning with bringing the telephone and cable television to rural areas. She understands the power of individual stories and the possibilities for understanding and connection that MFS can create.

Dover, Margo

Executive Director, Skillpoint Alliance

Margo Dover has spent much of her career as an international business specialist. During the 1980s she lived in Spain and Argentina where she was a co-founder and marketing director for Columbus International College, an American Community College program created for foreign students hoping to continue their post-secondary educations in the United States. Upon her return from Argentina, Dover did international business consulting until she was hired as the Director of the Texas International Center for the Texas Department of Economic Development where she planned, implemented and managed programs, events and initiatives designed to increase trade activity between Texas businesses and foreign markets. After leaving government service Dover became the Founder and CEO of Trade Catalyst, Inc., a firm that combined technology with strategic partnerships to offer qualified trade leads for small and medium-sized companies worldwide. As Austin’s economy shifted in 2000 Dover had the opportunity to move in a new direction and became the Vice President for Development for Meals on Wheels and More where she had sole responsibility for a $3.2 million capital campaign as well as the day-to-day fund raising for the organization. In June 2005, she became the President & CEO of Skillpoint Alliance, a nonprofit organization in Austin, TX. She has been a volunteer for Austin Shelter Rescue, the Equestrian Aid Foundation “The Ride for Hope”, Ninos Para Ninos/Kids for Kids and many other charitable organizations throughout the years.

Freed, Paul

Editor, Producer, Director

Beginning in 1971, his early film career consisted of producing and editing advertising campaigns for feature films including Prince of the City, Flashdance, 48 Hours, Shoot the Moon, Streets of Fire and Semi-Tough. He was the film editor for both feature films and TV movies, including Shakedown and Rude Awakening, also supervising sound and music for the projects. Paul's company, Harvest Productions, produced The Making of Tootsie for Columbia Pictures, which won an International Cine Award. More recently, Paul directed Martin Scorcese introducing four restored film noir classics, shown at the Venice Film Festival. Last year, Paul taught film editing at the Media Arts and Design School of Drexel University in Philadelphia and is finishing his first book, a fictional memoir, titled Rays in Hell.

Holmes, Kristy

Accountant, Maxell, Locke and Ritter

Kristy brings multiple talents to the Mobile Film School team. A tax associate with Maxwell, Locke and Ritter since 2005, Kristy concentrates her professional efforts on high net worth individuals and small family owned businesses. Not only is she a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor, Kristy has been involved in several community activities, such as Habitat for Humanity in Odessa and Meals on Wheels. She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. We look forward to her input on a wide range of topics, and plan to make good use of her financial expertise!

Mann, Susan

Media and Marketing Consultant

Susan Mann has over eighteen years of diverse business experience in sales, advertising, product branding campaign development, public relations, business management and raising venture capital. As an independent media and marketing consultant, she has produced commercials, corporate motion pictures, network promotional DVD's and developed program concepts for television. She supported Avid, Inc. in field technology reviews of editing solutions (i.e. The Beach). Susan participated in procuring product placement for the feature motion picture Come Away Home. While living on Hilton Head Island, SC she has supported the expansion of motion picture production through her participation on the South Carolina Film Commission Governor's Tax Incentive Subcommittee. Susan is currently participating in the set up and operations of Highway 1 Entertainment, a new television and motion picture company. Susan is the Executive Producer of the soon to be announced family action adventure feature film in partnership with Warner Independent Pictures and National Geographic Feature Films to be shot in Thailand.

Ray, Harvey

Director of Film Industry Relations, Savannah College of Art and Design

Harvey Ray is the Director of Film Industry Relations for the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and a member of the Savannah Film Commission. Shortly after joining SCAD, he conceived of and created Savannah Cinema Post, the only full service film post production facility available to students in any major film school. He was directly involved with the development and introduction of several major technologies for film, including electronic cinematography (Panavision's Panacam) and Montage, the first electronic random access editing system (pre-Avid), and then DaVinci, the digital scene to scene color correction system, which is still the world standard for the film industry. A life long jazz saxophonist and vocalist, Harvey has performed music extensively, including several appearances at the White House. He has been working in the film industry, and performing original music for Dance. He co-founded and directed Consortium, a company of dancers and musicians, which performed in New York and toured in the U.S. and Europe. Harvey is currently executive producting Red Thread, a feature film, shot in Savannah and starring Academy Award and Emmy nominee, Diana Scarwid.

Richards, Clark

Attorney, Hilgers, Bell and Richards

Clark Richards is an amateur digital film maker who practices law in his spare time to make ends meet. He has degrees from Northwestern University, UT Law School, and the University of London and is a member of the Order of the Coif and the UT Chancellors honor societies. Clark’s background includes a wide variety of experience, including teaching English in Japan, working as a mental health professional, clerking for the Federal 5th Circuit Court, and visiting as an assistant professor of law at Texas Wesleyan University. Clark is an attorney at Hilgers, Bell & Richards, where he focuses on intellectual property, entertainment and civil litigation.

Weis, Michael David “MD”

President, Confidence Bay

MD has over 20 years experience as an actor, producer, writer, innovator, and educator. He began his acting career in high school, and continued through college before being selected into the apprentice program at Actors Theater of Louisville, Kentucky. After college, MD produced nationally-distributed multimedia projects. A prolific writer, Michael’s works have been published nationwide and are used across the country to help kids pass standardized tests. Currently, MD is the president and CEO of Confidence Bay Inc, a revolutionary mobile HD editing suite.

Weiss, Bart

Artistic Director, Dallas Video Festival

Artistic Director, a video renaissance man. Assistant Professor at the University of Arlington by day, Final Cut Pro instructor, artistic director, and filmmaker in his non-existent free time. Known as Bart the Impaler on the basketball court, he has recently taken to wearing cowboy boots and campaigning for Kinky Friedman.
